Tonight, I am finding comfort in these words:
18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.
- Romans 7: 18-20
On the way back from my Mum’s tonight (its her birthday!), I saw one of the most horrible things I have seen in a long time. I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind since.
There was a guy, the hanging off the edge of a bridge, possibly about to jump, with police all around, panicking and trying to talk him out of it.
What would drive someone to do that?
I can remember it...
So, I’ve watched a few films recently. It is one of those seasons, Christmas tree up, dark outside as soon as I get home from work, cook a meal, sit down in the warm cosy house, and put a film on. I should probably break this habit at some point in the near future, but I’m happy with it for the minute, so it stays.
American History X - Love this film. Seen it a few times, the first...
Ever have those times when you really just don’t know enough words to explain what’s going on in your head? Well, I’m in one of those now. There is so much in there, whirring around. My mind is jumping from one thing to the next. Its like trying to keep up with one of my mum’s conversations…
A musician who I haven’t been able to stop listening too recently is Jeremy Larson. You need to check him out, especially All But One Saint. Incredible.
His new album, Salvation Club, was released today. I have put my order in, along with his previous self-titled album, and this awesome t-shirt.
For the last week or so, I have been trying to listen to a sermon whilst walking to work and back. I am trying to catch up with some of the Mars Hill Church ones, which I find very good, faithful and challenging. The current series that I am listening to is called The Peasant Princess, where they look at Song of Songs.
I must say, this series is incredible. I would highly recommend them to...

We are born helpless. As soon as we are fully conscious we discover loneliness....
